Who are we waiting for?

You will be comfortable if you fall into one of the groups:

  • Familiar with the basics of Java or OOP in general;
  • Engaged in development in any field for about 2 years;
  • Senior student of IT-specialty.

If you're into object-oriented programming, you'll find it easier to focus on the main subject of the course, Android features and how to work with them. You will be comfortable if you are already, for example, developing a front-end or back-end, using Ruby or C# in your work, or you are a senior IT student.

Upon completion of the course, you will participate in a 24-hour hackathon and create your own full-fledged application under the guidance of our lecturers and mentors.

But that's not the point...

Well, well, what's the most important thing?

There are a lot of development courses going on right now. As a rule, you complete tasks, receive a certificate, your group chat closes, and you go on your own sailing alone.

В Android Academy everything is different. This is not just an educational platform, but a community of professional developers. After completing the course, you become part of a community in which people help each other: find an interesting project, solve development problems, and more.

This is the place where you can come for advice on how and what to do, how to develop. Developer meetings and master classes are held periodically.

"A small course in the basics of Android development laid the foundation for a community of knowledgeable, experienced developers who, over the 5 years of the Android Academy's existence, have grown into team leads, experts, and leading developers."

Sounds cool. Why is it free?

Course mentoring Android Academy - this is not a one-way job, when you only share your knowledge and time. Our mentors and teachers are experienced developers and experts in their fields who continue to develop and share the main idea of the academy: to better understand the subject, you need to try to explain or show it to others.

Android Academy: now in MoscowAlexander Blinov (HeadHunter, xanderblinov)

“There are very cool developers, there are even brilliant ones, but only the exchange of knowledge and experience allows us to move in big steps.
Only a strong and cohesive community is able to make breakthroughs and develop the industry! We are launching the Android Academy to strengthen the Android developer community and fill it with fresh ideas.”

Supervising the work of students, mentors themselves exchange experience. They shovel mountains of material in search of optimal solutions and better explanations. Moreover, in Android Academy there is a “mentor program” that provides seminars and classes specifically for mentors. For example, Svetlana Isakova held an exclusive master class on Kotlinwhen he just came out.

Those who are already in the community can become mentors for newcomers and develop with them, taking responsibility for their success.

In addition, this is a great opportunity for mentors to attract developers to their projects, whom they themselves “brought up”. At the end of the course, specialists are formed at the academy, not only who have deeply studied the features Android-development, but also positively charged to work in a team.

During the training, students perform tasks in groups: for them, the most friendly atmosphere of mutual assistance and exchange of experience is created, which they then transfer to projects and companies.

“It's cool when there is a community of people who love their work. The community that will help you take your first steps in the big world of mobile development will prompt you, guide you and give you confidence in your strengths and your talent.
Android Academy is the very community.”

Why did we decide to launch Android Academy in Moscow?

First of all, we wanted people who are passionate about development to be able to go deeper into Android, create solutions that they would be proud of, and really love what they do.

Android Academy: now in MoscowAlexey Bykov (KasperskyLab, nonews)

“I remember how I felt when I wrote my first app and realized I was an Android developer. I had such an incredible surge of energy and inspiration that I even started running. I want everyone to experience the same feeling when they find their favorite job. It will be great if Android Academy help someone realize that what he or she loves is Android-development.»

The atmosphere is important to us. Android Academy offers an "open door" format that distinguishes it from other courses.

We will not have lectures, but rather warm meetings where any questions and lively discussions are welcome.

Where will the meetings take place?

The first 6 meetings will be held in the company Avito, which also often hosts meetings between back-end and mobile developers, testers, Android Peer Lab, where developers can discuss burning issues in an informal lamp atmosphere.

The rest of the places will be announced during the course.

Let's summarize what this course will give you.

  • You will understand whether Android-Developing your vocation.
  • You will learn to develop by understanding and actively using the possibilities Android.
  • Meet cool developers who are positively charged for teamwork, self-development and exchange of experience.
  • Be part of the community Android-developers, where you will always be happy to help.
