The SeaMonkey suite of web applications is being developed. It combines a web browser, email client, news feed aggregation system (RSS/Atom), and the WYSIWYG HTML page editor Composer into a single product. Chatzilla, DOM Inspector, and Lightning are no longer included in the base package. The first beta release of the new SeaMonkey 2.53 branch is available for testing.
Browser engine used in SeaMonkey to the state (the previous release used Firefox 52) with security fixes and some improvements from Firefox 72 backported. The built-in mail client has been synchronized with Thunderbird 60.3. The bookmark manager has been renamed to Library and now also provides tools for viewing browsing history. The download manager implementation has been migrated to the new API but retains the old look and feel. TLS 1.3 is enabled by default.
