Bose is closing retail stores in several regions around the world

According to online sources, Bose intends to close all retail stores located in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia. The company explains this decision by the fact that manufactured speakers, headphones and other products are “increasingly purchased through the online store.”

Bose is closing retail stores in several regions around the world

Bose opened its first physical retail store in 1993 and currently has numerous retail locations, many of which are located in the United States. The stores showcase new products from the company, which in recent years has gone beyond branded noise-canceling headphones, starting to produce smart speakers, sunglasses that double as headphones, etc.

“Originally, our retail stores provided people with the opportunity to experience, test and consult with experts about multi-component CD and DVD entertainment systems. It was a radical idea at the time, but we focused on what our customers needed and where they needed it. We're doing the same thing now,” said Bose vice president Colette Burke.

The company's press service confirmed that Bose will close all retail stores in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia over the next few months. In total, the company will close 119 retail stores and lay off employees. In other parts of the world, the company's retail network will continue to exist. We are talking about 130 stores in China and the UAE, as well as retail outlets in India, Southeast Asia and South Korea.
