The British Museum has announced plans to digitize its entire collection in a bid to improve security, ease public access and prevent calls for items to be repatriated. The project will require the processing of 2,4 million objects and its duration is estimated at five years. The digitization project was announced on October 18, following reports of 2000 objects stolen from the collection by a former museum employee, of which only 350 were recovered. Image source: Pixabay
