Capcom has finally removed Denuvo from the Resident Evil 2 remake

Remake Resident Evil 2 was one of the best games 2019. However, Capcom initially decided to use Denuvo's controversial anti-tamper technology on PC. Now the Japanese company has decided to completely remove the DRM system from its project.

Capcom has finally removed Denuvo from the Resident Evil 2 remake

Analysis of the performance of the Resident Evil 2 remake showed that this game is more dependent on the power of the video card than the processor. Therefore, removing the anti-jail system shouldn't bring any major performance improvements on fast PCs other than faster boot times.

Be that as it may, it has been proven more than once that the removal of Denuvo has a good effect on the stability and performance of games, so we can only welcome Capcom’s departure from this technology in already released high-end games.

Back in May 2019, Capcom accidentally introduced a version of the Resident Evil 2 remake without Denuvo. According to initial tests at the time, this version may provide some advantage to computers with weak processors. Without Denuvo technology, the game was sometimes 4-12 fps faster. Once the protection is officially removed, it will be interesting to see a performance comparison: is there still a noticeable gap between the versions with and without Denuvo?
