Disney is the greatest two-move in the history of mankind

Have you ever wondered why Disney took over all of Hollywood? And why didn't this happen before? Came effective managers? Did the mouse join the dark side of the force? Are movies now exceptionally brilliant?

It's all in the brain, as usual.

/// Further, just a hypothesis, as a proposal for discussion. Don't take it too seriously ///

My favorite cognitive science term is imprinting. Wikipedia gives it is a perfectly adequate definition. “Imprinting is a specific form of learning in ethology and psychology; fixing in memory the signs of objects in the formation or correction of innate behavioral acts.

Okay, okay, this explanation is from the category of "Sounds smart and right, but it doesn't make a damn thing." Let me explain using ducklings as an example.

Immediately after birth, the brain of a duckling must find its mother. If the duckling does not do this, it will most likely die. What is "Mom"? Do you think the duckling thinks that this is such a big shaggy bird near the birthplace? No matter how. If you look into his brain, it turns out that "Mama" - is any large moving object in the area of attention.

/// I'm simplifying, but the gist is true ///

If, after birth, a slop bucket is placed next to the chick, then the ducklings will run after the bucket, like after their mother. If you then show them the real one, they will not recognize it. Late. The period when the brain has adapted is over. Now a bucket is forever a mother.

This is imprinting. Naturally, it concerns not only parents. After birth, there is a short period of time when the brain adapts to the environment: here is a forest, here are hares, here is a hawk, here is gravity, here is Dima Bilan, everything seems to be clear. The information recorded during this period becomes the foundation of behavior for life. This foundation can only be adjusted by 10% over a lifetime (very roughly).

The period of adaptation of an animal to its environment is called "Sensitive". Hit that word. Just remember - the brain, during life, does not develop evenly. Immediately after birth, there is a very short period of adaptation to the environment, when the brain is in a forced mode.

As you have adapted, then you will run after that “bucket”.

Let's take the example of a wolf. The Wolf has an adaptation period of about seven months. During these months, the brain learns: to live in a flock, to hunt, to run in the forest, to navigate by smells, and much more.

If we place a wolf in a white room for the first seven months, and then release it into the forest, we will get a disabled person. Such a wolf cannot live in the forest. And never learn. The adaptation period is over.

And what's with the man, and what does Disney have to do with it?

In humans, the sensitive period lasts up to twelve years. It would be correct, of course, to split it into several phases by functions, and mention that the second stage of resetting the superfluous is then launched, but we will not overcomplicate the text.

In any case, the most important thing happens in the brain just before the age of twelve. During this period, patterns of behavior are laid that will dictate what to do for the rest of your life. In simple terms, we can say that they are formed: character, habits, preferences.

That same “bucket” appears, for which we will run for the rest of our lives. A man, of course, is more confused than a duckling, however, the history of the Disney company proves that the difference is not so great.

If I wanted to take over the world, I would do it this way. I would create an ecosystem that actively interacts with the minds of children under the age of twelve. The younger the age, the better the effect will be. I would show them vivid, memorable images. Telling compelling stories. It would definitely have a social function. Not only entertained, but also educated. In general, I would do everything so that the immature children's minds would imprint as much as possible everything that I show them.

And then I would have sat down by the river and waited for the body of the enemy to float by. I would have waited twenty years. Children need to grow up to have control over the world in their hands. So that their preferences become decisive in all areas of life.

And then I'll show them the "bucket".

I will show them something that is very deep in their minds. So deep that they don't realize it. I will show investors, the largest companies, and most importantly, I will show the "bucket" to the audience.

Here, in general, that's all. From now on, no company can compete with me. No one has this bonus in the minds of kids called "Imprinting Disney".

And it becomes crystal clear why Disney is remaking their classics. This is the same “bucket”, and we all follow it. Even if we understand how it works. But most importantly, we take our children there so that the cycle repeats itself.

This is the greatest two-move in the history of mankind.

Sorry for the pathos towards the end) I just like to loop stories. These are my thoughts. I will be glad to any objections/additions. Since I building my children's ecosystemAny information is important to me. Thank you.
