DreamHack and ESL Announce $5M CS:GO Tournament System

ESL and DreamHack Tournament Operators announced a new system of CS:GO competitions called ESL Pro Tour, within which $5 million will be raffled between the participants. According to the organizers, this should help the career of semi-professional cybersportsmen.

The ESL Pro Tour will include 20 competitions divided into two categories. DreamHack Open, ESEA MDL and ESL National Championships will be included in the first semi-professional category. They are designed to become a platform for getting into the larger competitions of the second category - ESL One, Intel Extreme Masters, DreamHack Masters and ESL Pro League. Each of the latest championships will feature at least $250.

β€œThe partnership between DreamHack and ESL will give young esports players a more complete and clear career path. The system should become more welcoming and convenient for eSports fans,” said ESL CEO Ralf Reichert.

By participating in the ESL Pro Tour competitions, esports players will earn points, thanks to which they will be able to qualify for the Master Championship tournaments, which will be held in Cologne and Katowice. The operators promised to reveal more details on September 28 at ESL One New York 2019.
