Xbox Game Studios now includes 343 Industries, The Coalition, Compulsion Games, Double Fine Productions, The Initiative, inXile Entertainment, Launchworks, Microsoft Casual Games, Obsidian Entertainment, Turn 10, Undead Labs, World's Edge, Mojang, Ninja Theory, Playground Games and Rare. When asked if Phil Spencer had finished buying studios, he replied: “No!”.

“I do think we can get a little carried away sometimes, putting a bunch of studio logos on a slide and it becomes news. These are not exchange cards. These are studios. And we want them to make great games. I love the fact that we're announcing three new franchises, two from our in-house studios," Phil Spencer said. — According to my expectations, there will not be a single show where we will not announce new games - just because of the number of studios that we have. It's not really some kind of PR battle over how many new acquisitions we can make. Because if we're not building great games, acquisitions don't matter. But are we done? I don't think so".

Phil Spencer intends to expand the geographic diversity of Xbox Game Studios. The publisher already has three studios in the UK, there is a studio in Canada, the USA. Now it's Asia's turn. “I said it both to [head of Xbox Game Studios] Matt [Booty] and publicly. I would like to have more influence in our internal studio team from Asian creators. While the acquisition is not close, so this is not a preliminary announcement of something. But if you just look at the map where our studios are located, this is a real opportunity for us,” said Phil Spencer. “I love that we can stand here and announce that Yakuza, Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy are coming [on Xbox One]. This is due to third party relationships that take time. And we were really focused on that. But I think we could have a stronger game making potential there. This has happened in the past and I think we should try again."
