In 2019, the French video game industry has a total of 1200 games in production, 63% of which are new IP. Data obtained from a survey of over 1130 companies.
В 50% of companies reported that they were development studios, and 42% were service or technology providers. More than half of the development studios are not even five years old.
In terms of hiring, 75% of employees are considered “permanent contractors,” 23% are “fixed-term contractors,” and only 2% are classified as trainees. 57% of companies surveyed said they would be hiring new people in 2020.
The entire French video game industry employs 14% of female workers. The share of women has remained stable since 2016, according to past surveys.
