Texas player sends police to rescue friend in England

This weekend, the BBC and Sky News reported how the quick response of 21-year-old Dia Lathora from Texas allowed her fellow player, 17-year-old Aidan Jackson, from England to receive emergency treatment. The girl called the police - she managed to get through to the public safety service of the town of Widnes, located in Cheshire, to call them to Jackson's house.

Aidan's parents were downstairs, unaware that their son was having a seizure (the bedroom door was closed). How did Diya find out? The teenager told Sky News reporters that he felt a little strange while sitting at the computer, so he pointed the chat microphone towards the bed and lay down, leaving the opportunity to continue the conversation. And when he stopped responding, Diya Latora realized that something was wrong.

In the audio recording of her call, she clearly explains the situation while apologizing for crying. It is noteworthy that she had Jackson's address, but no other contact information, and the girl had to quickly find a number to call services at this address. Police and paramedics quickly arrived at Jackson's house and after briefly telling Jackson's mother what was happening, everyone went upstairs to find Jackson having had a seizure. “The next thing I remember is waking up surrounded by police and my parents in my room who said I had just had a seizure,” Jackson said.

His mother, Caroline, said that when she answered the door, police were told they were responding to an emergency call from the United States about an unresponsive person in the house. Aidan had already had a seizure in May 2019, so there was no need to explain the situation for a long time.

Jackson was taken to the hospital by ambulance and went home the same day after a series of tests. Prompt action and immediate attention are necessary in the event of any attack; It's always better to take precautions than to be sorry later. Now there are new rules in the Jackson family: Aidan will play in his room with the door open. According to the BBC, the Jacksons contacted Dia Lathora and expressed their gratitude to her. "We can't thank Diya and the emergency services enough for what they did, given the 4750 miles between Diya and Aidan," Caroline Jackson said.
