Changed Microsoft Edge icon for beta browser on Android and iOS

Microsoft strives to maintain a consistent style and design for its apps across all platforms. This time the software giant presented new logo for the beta version of the Edge browser on Android. Visually, it repeats the logo of the desktop version based on the Chromium engine, introduced back in November last year. Then the developers promised that they would gradually add a new visual look to all platforms.

The new Edge logo is currently limited to beta testers, meaning the old icon is still used in the stable version. In addition, the interface has undergone a change, which has many useful options.

Also the company released update for iOS, which also has a new logo. Obviously, the developers intend to provide full-fledged releases for mobile platforms soon after the launch of desktop versions. And they, as you know, are expected on January 15th.

Overall, the Redmond-based company is clearly preparing to conquer new frontiers in the web browser market. Therefore, the super-popular Google Chrome was chosen as a “donor”, and not the favorite of Firefox open source software fans. It is assumed that a single engine, combined with add-ons from Internet Explorer, will allow the "blue browser" to take more space in the market.
