Proving Ground is a repeatable mission that takes place in a city purpose-built as a training facility. Captured enemies were released into the streets to give the Hellfire Troopers a chance to hone their skills. A mission has three components: a challenge, a modifier, and a condition. The test is the current task, such as rescuing civilians or activating SAM. The modifier mixes things up and makes the Inferno Marines rev up. For example, it causes an unexpected orbital bombardment or a power outage that plunges the entire city into darkness. Finally, the condition primarily affects the equipment available to Hellmaring. For example, they can only use shotguns or get a new weapon every time they reload.

In total, Helldivers offers three Proving Grounds, which are available during the Galactic Campaign and are unlocked as you progress through it, and then reset at the very end. New training grounds are opening in the next Galactic Campaign with new challenges, modifiers and conditions.

Players who climb to the top of the Proving Ground leaderboard at the end of the Galactic Campaign will be rewarded with the Super Earth Command Cape.

By the way, about the updated equipment system. It allows the player to assign up to three combinations of weapons, perks, and stratagems for quick access at the start of a mission. Users who want to add an element of surprise to the gameplay can choose random equipment.
