I returned to the tabs only in 2010. Thank heavens, in 2013 they added a button What do you want to do? I sometimes use it because I don't know where the things I need are located. I still do not understand why it was necessary to change the user interface and locations.
Recently I needed to make an identical interface on different machines, and some interesting features came to light. I want to say right away that I'm talking about a local account, about mail on mail.ru and the cloud in the same place (100GB, free).

Be sure to completely remove the previous office and additionally installed programs for it. Not to say that it was very stressful. But they couldn't embed the code for this into the installer themselves? In addition, the old office may have personal settings. It's so cool to have them automatically in the new one. Of course, you can save the settings of the panels, BUT the Personal file needs to be recreated and re-(!) bind and rename the buttons on the custom toolbar to macros from the personal macro book.
It's not easy with Outlook either. Microsoft provides the ability to sync some folders, but not all (Junk E-mail preference lists don't sync), across devices if you have Exchange or Outlook.com mail. Moreover, as far as I know, VBA does not have the ability to do this at least in semi-automatic mode: export / import to a file with a macro.
With this experience, I created a file with fairly detailed instructions for setting up panels, views, and more, as well as data export files. I'll use it next week. Xiaomi did not justify the trips, I will set up a new laptop.
And yet, the limits of creating a user-friendly tool are interesting.
