Chris Beard steps down as CEO of Mozilla Corporation

Chris has been with Mozilla for 15 years (his career at the company began with the launch of the Firefox project) and became CEO five and a half years ago, succeeding Brendan Icke. Beard will step down as CEO this year (a successor has not yet been chosen, if the search drags on, this position will be temporarily occupied by the executive chairman of the Mozilla Foundation Mitchell Baker), but will retain a seat on the board of directors.

Chris explains his departure as a desire to take a break from hard work and devote the free time to his family. He is confident that Mozilla will continue to build the future of the Internet, as well as provide people with the ability to control their privacy on the global network (it was during his time that such projects as Facebook isolation in a container and the Firefox Monitor service were launched, notifying users of data leaks).
