The Libra Association keeps trying to get regulatory approval to launch Libra cryptocurrency in Europe

Recall that in June, Facebook and other members of the Libra Association, including Vodafone, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, announced plans to launch a new digital currency backed by a reserve of real assets. Since then, the digital currency has attracted the attention of the authorities of different countries, and the relevant authorities in France and Germany have already promised to ban Libra in the European Union.

Previously, Mr. Perez, who before joining the Libra Association held one of the senior positions at PayPal, said that the association has focused its efforts on meeting the requirements of regulatory authorities in different countries. He also noted that it depends on how productive this work will be, whether Libra will be launched in accordance with the planned schedule. The head of the Libra Association confirmed that delaying the launch of the digital currency by one or two quarters is not critical. According to Mr. Perez, the most important point is to comply with the requirements imposed by the regulators. He also added that the association needs to intensify its activities in order to achieve the desired result.
