FreeELEC 9.2.0

FreeELEC 9.2.0

LibreELEC is a minimal Linux-based operating system that serves as a platform for the Kodi media center. LibreELEC runs on multiple hardware architectures and can run on both desktop and single board computers with an ARM processor.

LibreELEC 9.2.0 improves webcam driver support, runs on Raspberry Pi 4, and adds more support for firmware updates. The release is based on Kodi v18.5 and contains many changes and improvements to the user experience and a complete overhaul of the underlying OS kernel to improve stability and expand hardware support compared to version 9.0.

Changes since the last beta:

  • Support for webcam drivers; improvements for RPi4;
  • Added firmware updater for RPi4.

Change for Raspberry Pi 4:

  • With LE 9.1.002 and later you need to add 'hdmi_enable_4kp60=1' to the config .txt if you want to use the 4k output on the RPi4;

  • In this release, 1080p playback behavior and performance on the Raspberry Pi 4B is generally on par with the previous 3B/Model 3B+, with the exception of HEVC media, which is now hardware decoded and greatly improved.
