Microsoft, due to the gluttony of Bing Chat, had to agree to lease NVIDIA AI accelerators from Oracle

It is not known exactly whether the demand for Microsoft AI services is great or whether the company simply does not have enough computing resources, but the IT giant had to negotiate with Oracle about the use of AI accelerators in the latter’s data center. As The Register reports, we are talking about using Oracle equipment to “offload” some of the Microsoft language models used in Bing. The companies announced a multi-year agreement Tuesday. According to Microsoft, the company's simultaneous use of both Oracle Cloud and Microsoft Azure will expand customer capabilities and speed up work with search services. The cooperation is due to the fact that Microsoft needs more and more computing resources for the declared “explosive growth” of its AI services, and Oracle has tens of thousands of NVIDIA A100 and H100 accelerators for rent.
