Gears 5 will have 11 multiplayer maps at launch

The Coalition studio spoke about plans for the release of the shooter Gears 5. According to the developers, at launch the game will have 11 maps for three game modes - “Horde”, “Confrontation” and “Escape”.

Players will be able to fight in the arenas Asylum, Bunker, District, Exhibit, Icebound, Training Grounds, Vasgar, as well as in four “hives” - The Hive, The Descent, The Mines and The Gauntlet. The latter will only be available in Escape.

In addition, the studio will add five maps to the game from Gears of War 4, but they will only be available in Private Play mode. In the future, The Coalition will expand the list of “hives” weekly, and for other modes maps will be released along with operations.

Gears 5 will be released on September 10 on PC and Xbox One.

At gamescom 2019, The Coalition showed a story trailer. The main character of the game will be J.D. Phoenix's former partner, Kate Diaz. The project will have two key storylines. One of them is connected with the planet Sera, and the second is with the character’s internal conflict. You can read more about this here.
