There have been reports online that subscription video streaming service Netflix is ββtesting a new feature that could help a user start streaming when they don't know what to watch. In shuffle mode, you can, for example, select a popular show to start watching a random episode.
It will be more like traditional television, where you can simply turn on the TV and start watching a program or movie.
Current streaming services do not yet have such a service. Instead, the viewer must first select a streaming app and then scroll through an endless menu and read recommendations before they can choose their next movie or show.
The new shuffle feature instead offers something closer to the cable TV experience where there are always a few classic favorite shows on the program.
The names of TV shows in the service when using the new feature will appear in a new line called "Play a random episode." To start the function, you need to click on the icon of any TV show, after which a random episode will start playing.
The Netflix service confirmed to the TechCrunch resource that discussions about the possibility of using such a function, although they did not give guarantees for its speedy implementation.
