Telecoms equipment company Nokia has hired hundreds of engineers in Finland this year to speed up its 5G development.
Last week the Finnish company, which competes with Sweden's Ericsson and China's Huawei, slashed its profit forecast for 2019 and 2020, saying profits would be lower as it has to spend more on developing 5G technology amid growing competition for fast developing market.
"Nokia has hired 350 employees in Finland this year, 240 of them in its mobile networks division, many of whom are dedicated to developing SoC (system-on-chip) integrated circuits, a key element for 5G equipment," it said in an email. Nokia spokesman to Reuters.
