NPD Group: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare became the best-selling game of 2019 in the US

The NPD Group has published an annual report in which it talks about the best-selling games in 2019 in the United States. As you'd expect, Call of Duty is at its best again.

In total, the industry sold $2019 billion in consoles, games, accessories and game cards in 14,58. This is 13% less than in 2018 ($16,69 billion). The decline affected all product categories.

Game sales fell 9%, from $7,2 billion to $6,6 billion. Console figures, as we have already written, decreased by 22%, from $5 billion to $3,9 billion. Sales of accessories and game cards fell 7%, from $4,4 billion to $4,1 billion.

“Annual dollar sales of software fell 9% to $6,6 billion,” said NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella. “Decreases were seen across all platforms in December, while Switch was the only platform with year-over-year growth.”
