Oculus VR unveils Shadow Point puzzle trailer for its helmets

Oculus VR, a division of Facebook, is gearing up to launch its self-contained Quest headset, which aims to deliver VR quality (minus graphics) on par with the flagship Rift without the need for an external PC. One of the device's exclusives will be Shadow Point, an adventure puzzle game published by Oculus Studios and developed by Coatsink Software.

This is a story project in virtual reality, the action of which takes place between an observatory located in the mountains and an ever-changing fantasy world. The player will have to explore the kingdom, control the shadows and solve cryptic puzzles in order to solve the mystery of the schoolgirl Lorna McCabe, who disappeared from the Shadow Point Observatory twelve years ago.

The main character is Alex Burkett. Guided by the journal of Edgar Mansfield, voiced by British actor Patrick Stewart, he will take a cable car up to an abandoned peak, where he will discover a portal to another realm. During the adventure, you will have to play with your own reflection, walk on walls, manipulate gravity and peer through a magic magnifying glass to open access to alternate realities and solve puzzles.

More than 80 puzzles are promised, a compelling story, and an immersive and nicely stylized world. An exact release date has yet to be announced.
