During a press conference at the Cosmonaut Training Center, she confirmed that preparatory work had been carried out for activities outside the ISS. He said that during his stay on the ISS he could make one or two or even three spacewalks, not excluding that, in addition to her, Christina Cook or one of the other crew members would go outside the ISS.

Recall that the first woman to go into outer space was the USSR cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya in 1984. The spacewalk of two women could take place in March of this year with the participation of American astronauts Ann McClain and Christina Cook. However, it had to be canceled due to the fact that a suitable spacesuit was not found for McClain.

According to NASA, the launch of the Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-15 manned spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome will take place on September 25. The crew preparing to go into space includes Russian cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka, American astronaut Jessica Meir, and the first astronaut from the UAE, Hazzaa al-Mansouri. According to the plan, Oleg Skripochka and Jessica Meir should return to earth on March 30, 2020. American astronaut Andrew Morgan will leave the ISS with them.
