The OneWeb project, we recall, provides for the formation of a global satellite infrastructure to provide broadband Internet access around the world. Hundreds of small spacecraft will be responsible for data transmission.

The first six OneWeb satellites successfully launched into orbit on February 28 this year. The launch was implemented from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana using the Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle.

Subsequent launches will be carried out from the Baikonur and Vostochny cosmodromes. Thus, the first launch from Baikonur within the framework of the OneWeb project is planned to be carried out in the fourth quarter of this year, and the first launch from Vostochny - in the second quarter of 2020.

Each OneWeb satellite weighs about 150 kg. The devices are equipped with solar panels, a plasma propulsion system and an on-board GPS satellite navigation sensor.
