Almost every second Russian has seen the personal data of his colleagues

A study conducted by Kaspersky Lab suggests that company employees are often careless about protecting their personal data from the prying eyes of colleagues.

It turned out that almost every second Russian - approximately 44% - saw the confidential data of the people with whom he works. We are talking about information such as wages, accrued bonuses, bank details, passwords, etc.

Experts note that the leakage of such information can turn into both troubles and serious problems - from the deterioration of relationships in the team to cyber incidents.

The study showed that only about a quarter (28%) of employees in Russia regularly check who else has access to the documents and services they work with and make the necessary changes.

However, it should be noted that not only employees themselves, but also employers are often to blame for the leakage of personal data. The lack of policies needed to regulate access rights results in documents being stored and moved inside and outside the company without proper control.
