EPEL 8 release with packages from Fedora for RHEL 8

Project WARM (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux), maintaining a repository of additional packages for RHEL and CentOS, объявил about the readiness of the EPEL 8 repository for release. The repository was formed two weeks ago and is now considered ready for implementation. Through EPEL, users of distributions compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux are offered an additional set of packages from Fedora Linux supported by the Fedora and CentOS communities. Binary builds are made for the x86_64, aarch64, ppc64le and s390x architectures.
In its current form, 310 binary packages (179 srpm) are available for download.

Of the innovations, the creation of an additional channel epel8-playground, which acts as an analogue of Rawhide in Fedora and offers the latest versions of actively updated packages, without a guarantee of their stability and maintenance, is noted. Compared to previous branches, EPEL 8 also adds support for the new s390x architecture, for which packages are now being built. In the future, the appearance of support for s390x in EPEL 7 is not excluded. Modules are not yet supported, but their support is planned to be integrated by the time the EPEL-8.1 branch is formed in the repository, which will allow them to be used as dependencies when building other packages in EPEL.
