Reuters: Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo will create an analogue of Google Play

Chinese manufacturers Xiaomi, Huawei Technologies, Oppo and Vivo unite efforts to create a platform for developers outside of China. It should become an analogue and alternative to Google Play, as it will allow you to download applications, games, music and movies to competing stores, as well as promote them.

The initiative is called the Global Developer Service Alliance (GDSA). It should help companies to use the advantages of certain regions, in particular, to cover Asia. In addition, the Alliance is scheduled to offer better terms than the Google Store.

In total, at the first stage there will be nine regions - including Russia, India and Indonesia. Initially, the GDSA was scheduled to launch in March 2020, but the coronavirus may make its own adjustments.

In addition, there are problems in terms of management. Surely each of the companies will "pull the blanket" for themselves, especially in terms of investment and subsequent profits, so the task of coordination will require a lot of effort.

At the same time, the source notes that Google earned $ 8,8 billion worldwide last year using Google Play. Considering that the service is banned in China, GDSA has a good chance of implementing the project.
