Consumers in the EMEA region, which includes Europe, including Russia, the Middle East and Africa, are slow to update tablets, which is causing sales of these devices to decline. Such data is provided by the International Data Corporation (IDC).

In the third quarter of the outgoing year, 10,9 million tablets were sold on this market. This is 8,2% less than in the third quarter of 2018, when shipments were 11,9 million units.

The Western European market "sank" by 6,0% year on year. In Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, demand fell by 12,0%.

Apple in the last quarter was in first place with a share of 22,2%, and Samsung is in second place with a result of 18,8%. A year earlier, the opposite picture was observed: then the South Korean giant was in first place with 21,2%, and the "apple" empire - in second with 19,7%.

"Bronze" went to Lenovo with a share of 11,0%. Rounding out the top five vendors are Huawei and Amazon, with 9,0% and 8,1% respectively.

Analysts at IDC predict that in the fourth quarter of 2019 and the entire year as a whole, tablet shipments in the EMEA region will decrease by 10,2%.
