Apparently, a new generation of displays using an active matrix based on organic light-emitting diodes (AMOLED) will be produced under the SAMOLED brand.

It is not yet entirely clear what the “S” in the new name means. Perhaps this is a reference to Samsung itself. At the same time, observers emphasize, the new trademark should not be confused with the name Super AMOLED, which is already used by the South Korean giant.

There is a possibility that the first smartphones with a SAMOLED screen will be devices from the flagship Galaxy S11 family, which will debut early next year. There are also suggestions that the flexible Galaxy Fold 2 smartphone will be equipped with a SAMOLED panel.
