Lenovo foldable laptop with flexible screen gets Windows 10 Pro, not Windows 10X

Lenovo is known to presented at CES 2020, its first foldable laptop. It's called the ThinkPad X1 Fold and, surprisingly, it works running Windows 10 Pro, not Windows 10X, Microsoft's operating system specifically designed for dual-screen and foldable devices.

The reason for this is actually simple - the new system is not yet ready, and Redmond clearly does not want to show a product that is too raw, creating ground for speculation and declassifying the design and other features of the OS in advance. However, the lack of a system confirms the fact that foldable PCs can exist without Windows 10X. It is enough to optimize the existing β€œOS” in the right way so that it works no worse.

Note that the ThinkPad X1 Fold is equipped with a 13,3-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2048 Γ— 1536 pixels. It folds into two 9,6-inch screens with a 3:2 aspect ratio. An unnamed processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD are installed inside. There is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem. The base version is priced at $2499 and will go on sale later this year.
