According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the global market for printing equipment (Hardcopy Peripherals, HCP) is experiencing a decline in sales.

The presented statistics cover deliveries of traditional printers of various types (laser, inkjet), multifunctional devices, as well as copiers. The technique of A2-A4 formats is taken into consideration.

It is reported that in the first quarter of this year, the volume of the global market in unit terms amounted to 22,8 million units. This is about 3,9% less than last year's result, when shipments were 23,8 million units.

The leading supplier is HP: in the first three months of this year, the company sold 9,4 million printing devices, which corresponds to 41% of the global market.

In second place is the Canon Group with 4,3 million units shipped and a 19% share. Approximately the same results were shown by Epson, which is in third position in the ranking.

On the fourth line is Brother with deliveries in the amount of 1,7 million units and 7% of the market. Closes the top five Kyocera Group, whose sales volume amounted to about 0,53 million units - this corresponds to a share of 2%.
