System76 has announced the Adder WS portable computer, designed for content creators and researchers, as well as gamers.

The mobile workstation is equipped with a 15,6-inch 4K OLED display with a resolution of 3840 Γ— 2160 pixels. Graphics processing is entrusted to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 discrete accelerator.

The maximum configuration includes the Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, which contains eight processing cores with the ability to simultaneously process up to sixteen instruction streams. The clock frequency varies from 2,4 GHz to 5,0 GHz.

The laptop has up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, a Gigabit Ethernet controller, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5 wireless adapters, an SD card reader, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 / Thunderbolt 3 (Type-C) interface, three ports USB 3.0 etc.

The storage subsystem can combine two M.2 solid-state modules (SATA or PCIe NVMe) and a 2,5" drive. The total capacity reaches 8 TB.

The portable computer uses an operating system based on the Linux kernel. This could be the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS platform or Ubuntu's own Pop!_OS.
