Thunderbird 68

A year after the last major release, the Thunderbird 68 mail client was released, based on the Firefox 68-ESR codebase.

Major changes:

  • The main menu of the application is now in the form of a single panel, with icons and separators [pic];
  • Settings dialog moved to tab [pic];
  • Added the ability to assign colors in the window for writing a message and tags, not limited to the standard palette [pic];
  • Improved dark theme [pic];
  • Added new options for managing email attachments [pic];
  • Improved "FileLink" mode, which attaches links to files that have already been uploaded. Reattaching now uses the same link instead of re-uploading the file. Also, an account is no longer required to use the default FileLink service - WeTransfer;
  • Language packs can now be selected in the settings. To do this, the "intl.multilingual.enabled" option must be set (it may also be necessary to change the value of the "extensions.langpacks.signatures.required" option to "false").
