LG Electronics has received a patent for a curious smartphone equipped with a flexible display: perhaps a prototype of such a device will see the light of day in the foreseeable future.
The document, published on the website of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), has a concise name "Mobile terminal" (Mobile terminal).
As can be seen in the illustrations presented, we are talking about a device in a cylindrical body. Inside there will be a flexible screen twisting into a small roll.
Users will be able to pull the panel to the desired length - say, to quickly view messages or to fully work with mobile applications.
When collapsed, a small section of the display will always remain visible: it can show the time, information about the battery charge level, and any notifications.
A speaker and a camera are provided at the top of the cylindrical module. The latter, judging by the patent images, has a classic one-component configuration.
In general, the device looks very unusual. Whether he is destined to appear on the commercial market is not yet clear.
