According to network sources, the attackers managed to hack the servers of Web.com, as well as two large domain name registrars that it owns. We are talking about the registrars NetworkSolutions.com and Register.com, whose clients received the corresponding notification.

The source reports that the attackers managed to gain access to some of the company’s systems, which potentially made it possible to obtain the personal data of some clients, including their mailbox addresses, phone numbers, information about the services provided, etc. The company noted that clients’ credit card information was not were compromised during this incident.

β€œOn October 16, 2019, Web.com specialists recorded that a third party gained unauthorized access to a limited number of our computer systems in late August. This could mean that an attacker could gain access to account information. As a result of this incident, our customers' credit card information was not compromised," Web.com said in a statement posted on the company's website. The company recommends that its customers change their account passwords the next time they log in to the system. As for customer credit card data, it could not be stolen because it is stored in encrypted form.
