According to the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA), around 14 people have used Imminent Methods' services. In order to find the attackers, law enforcement forces conducted searches in more than 500 facilities around the world. In particular, in the UK, searches took place in Hull, Leeds, London, Manchester, Merseyside, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Somerset and Surrey.

The police were also able to track down the people who bought the hacking software. They will be charged with improper use of a computer. The international operation was led by the Australian Federal Police.

Police said a total of 14 people were arrested in connection with the sale and use of hacking software.

By taking control of the website, police will be able to understand its activities in detail and identify those who bought illegal tools, says Professor Alan Woodward, a cybersecurity expert at the University of Surrey.

β€œAuthorities now know how many users bought the proposed malware. Now they will work to expose the 14 people who were stupid enough to buy this malware,” Woodward said.
