Gaijin Entertainment has announced that open beta testing of the World War mode, a reconstruction of famous battles, has begun in the online action game War Thunder.
"Operation" - a series of battles in one scenario based on real battles. They begin with regimental commanders, but everyone can participate. The equipment on the cards is historically accurate. If you do not have a suitable car, then you will be given it in the basic configuration. Commanders in strategic mode move pieces around the map corresponding to ground and air armies. Players on both sides clash in session battles. The outcome affects the entire operation. The losing team retreats, losing equipment and soldiers. The duration of the operation is up to two hours.
There are several scenarios, the equipment is different in all, and combat missions differ from battle to battle: assault and defense of fortified positions, convoy escort, battles for superiority on the ground and in the air. The goals also depend on the actions of the commander: if he sends aviation into the battle of ground armies, then there will be targets for pilots and the opportunity to board the plane.
