Video: AMD's FEMFX library will improve game physics

The more resources a developer spends on making the game engine work properly, the less time is left directly for the game itself. Libraries, plugins and external modules often do not implement everything that is needed. And so AMD producedand FEMFX. This is a physical library that allows you to add support for the correct deformation of materials to the engine.

As noted, FEMFX will allow game physics engines to more easily implement the desired effects. Now trees, boards, walls and other solid objects break more realistically than before, and elastic materials bend, deform and repel other objects. The possibility of dynamic change of properties is also promised. All this will allow you to create believable materials in games, especially if you supplement the physics with ray tracing technology.

AMD has licensed the library under the MIT/X11 license, which is one of the most humane in terms of restrictions. The only thing that is required from the creators of the game is to place in the credits a mention of the use of FEMFX.

Library available on GitHub and is royalty-free.
