Tesla is betting big on the adoption of self-driving systems, promising that it will have models without a steering wheel in its portfolio within two years.
In a new video, the company demonstrated the Tesla Model 3's autonomous driving capabilities using the latest software and a new Full Self-Driving (FSD) computer.
The driver in the cabin only indicates the destination on the navigator screen, and then the car moves independently, without resorting to its help to control the movement, stopping at red traffic lights, taking turns and moving along various roads.
The total duration of the trip, which starts and ends at Tesla's headquarters in Palo Alto, is about 12 miles (about 19 km) and takes about 18 minutes. But the video is sped up, so the ride time is reduced to less than a couple of minutes.
