The post-apocalyptic action film Days Gone (in Russian localization - β€œLife After”) will be released on April 26, so the creators are trying to maintain interest in the project and share details. In particular, another short trailer was presented, in which in half a minute we are shown a lot of excerpts of gameplay and various picturesque places of the lost world of people.

At the same time, a longer video was published about how the Bend studio created the game of their dreams. Director Jeff Ross praised his staff: β€œBend Studio, from a development standpoint, to me means a studio that can punch above its weight class. It can actually go out and do things that people don't think are possible - we just say, 'We're going to make a really big game called Days Gone.'

β€œI remember when we were brainstorming ideas for a new project, they gave us this opportunity and said, 'Hey, Bend Studio, you can do something completely new, create a world, characters and gameplay.' We've always done single-player story-based projects. This includes the Siphon Filter series, and Resistance: Retribution, and Uncharted, of course. We learned a lot from working on Uncharted in terms of presenting this type of story,” added creative director John Garvin.

At first, the team working on the zombie adventure consisted of about 40–50 people, but at a certain stage it became clear that we were talking about a new generation project that required more effort. Gradually, specialists from other high-profile studios were brought in to improve all aspects of the game - Bend Studio currently employs about 130 people, which is much more than ever before, although less than one would expect from such an ambitious project.

By the way, many of the studio’s employees are owners of Harley-Davidson and other motorcycles and love to ride them. Many of them have been in the saddle for a long time, others are new to this business, but they all helped make the game more realistic and better understand the biker culture. Mr. Garvin said that there are many talented specialists working in the studio. One of them came up with a way to display 500 creatures on the screen at the same time - a whole horde. This was a great achievement and one of the many nuances that made it possible to bring the ideas of Days Gone to life.

Creating a project with an open world, hordes of enemies, a motorcycle, in a completely new universe, with a new engine and a new team - this was a very non-trivial task, which, according to the developers from Bend Studio, they coped with. Well, players will be able to evaluate the result very soon.
