At the moment, the company is βpolishingβ the next Windows 10 update (20H1), which will be released in March, but will reach users in April or May next year. However, this version will be called 2004. Why is that? Everything is simple and complex at the same time.
Redmond doesnβt want users to confuse Windows 10 version 2003 and Windows Server 2003. Although how can they be confused if the first is a desktop OS and the second is a server OS? However, the company believes that launching Windows 10 20H1 with the name 2003 could lead to even greater confusion when talking about Windows Server 2003.
However, Microsoft has not yet announced the official name of the first major Windows 10 update, which should appear in 2020. So things could still change.
