Release of the two-pane file manager Krusader 2.8.0

After four and a half years of development, the release of the two-pane file manager Krusader 2.8.0, built using Qt, KDE technologies and KDE Frameworks libraries, has been published. Crusader supports archives (ace, arj, bzip2, gzip, iso, lha, rar, rpm, tar, zip, 7zip), checksum checks (md5, sha1, sha256-512, crc, etc.), to external resources (FTP, SAMBA, SFTP, SCP) and mass renaming by mask. There are built-in partition mount manager, terminal emulator, text editor and file content viewer. The interface supports tabs, bookmarks, tools for comparing and synchronizing the contents of directories. The code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv2 license.

Major changes:

  • Added the ability to reopen recently closed tabs and quickly undo closing a tab in the menu.

  • In the "New Folder ..." dialog, the history of working with directories and the output of a contextual hint of the directory name are provided.
  • Added the ability to duplicate the active tab when clicking with the mouse while holding down the Ctrl or Alt key.
  • Over 60 bugs have been fixed, including problems that occurred when deleting directories, selecting files, and working with archives or iso files.
