Walmart withdraws lawsuit related to Tesla solar panel fire

Yesterday, the companies issued a joint statement saying they were "pleased to resolve the concerns raised by Walmart" regarding the solar panels and look forward to "safely restarting generators that are powered by renewable energy sources."

We remind you that Walmart requested to court with a statement of claim in August of this year. At that time, company representatives were not only demanding financial compensation for damages due to several fires, but also insisted that Tesla remove its solar panels from more than 240 Walmart stores. The lawsuit said several fires occurred between 2012 and 2018. Although the terms of the settlement were not announced, it is known that Walmart refused to pay damages. This means that she reserved the right to go back to court if any new problems arise with the solar panels.

Tesla, best known for its electric vehicles, began selling solar panels several years ago after purchasing SolarCity Corp. for $2,6 billion. It is worth noting that Tesla’s share of the solar panel market has recently been declining. Tesla's operating income from energy generation and storage fell 7% between January and September this year, reaching $1,1 billion.
