We are talking about a function that prohibits the frequent forwarding of messages within group chats. Group administrators will be able to use it by making changes to the corresponding chat settings. According to some reports, a message will be tagged "frequently forwarded" if it has been shared more than four times.
The integration of the new function will allow filtering spam and false news. It is worth noting that users will be able to copy the text and then forward it under the guise of new messages, but this will significantly complicate the spread of fakes. Official representatives of the company have not yet announced the timing of the implementation of the new feature.
Recall that at the moment WhatsApp already has a lot of useful tools to combat fake news and fraud. There are integrated tools for searching for suspicious links, restrictions on message forwarding, advanced chat settings for group administrators. According to some reports, WhatsApp will have a reverse image search function that will help verify the authenticity of a particular picture.
