Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty in an interview spoke about plans for 2020 and beyond. The company aims to leverage its growing number of internal studios to release more games on PC and Xbox.
“We feel really good heading into 2020,” he says. “We have a goal of being able to release a game roughly every three to four months.”
A plethora of games from internal studios is something the Xbox One hasn't had since launch. Especially compared to a competitor. We can only hope that quality will be the main goal, not quantity.
Xbox CEO Phil Spencer also recently that the company will not make the same mistakes in the next generation as with the Xbox One. Currently, the platform holder owns 16 studios, 15 of which are independent game developers. All of them are dedicated to creating projects for Scarlett.
One of them has already been announced - Halo Infinite. The shooter will be released simultaneously with the next Xbox during the holiday season of 2020.
