Dutch studio Nixxes, known for its PC versions of Square Enix games (particularly the Tomb Raider and Deus Ex series), announced during GDC 2019 that the latest update for Shadow of the Tomb Raider has finally added support for RTX ray-traced shadows. and NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) intelligent smoothing.

This is a patch that updates Shadow of the Tomb Raider to version 1.0.280. This update is applied automatically on Steam the next time you launch the game. According to the developers, support for RTX and DLSS shadow rendering requires Windows 10, updated to version 1809 or later, an NVIDIA RTX 20-series graphics accelerator, and GeForce driver 419.35 or later.

The developers note that the patch should improve the environment for all players on the PC. However, if suddenly someone will experience problems, the ability to roll back to the previous version remains. To do this, Steam has made available a special "beta version" - build 279, which can be used to return to the previous release.

It's been six months since the launch of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but as they say, better late than never. Moreover, the developers continue to develop the game and release DLC. Unfortunately, a special trailer with a demonstration of RTX and DLSS is not presented in the game, so you can pay attention to the old video.
