Microsoft previously began using the open-source Chromium browser as the foundation for its Edge web browser. The application is already available for Windows 10, albeit in a test build. Google seems to fully support this move and welcomes Microsoft's contribution. However, some of the search giant's applications do not function correctly in Edge. For instance, […]
A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel (CVE-2019-11683) that allows remote denial of service through specially crafted UDP packets (packet-of-death). The issue is caused by a bug in the udp_gro_receive_segment handler (net/ipv4/udp_offload.c) with the implementation of GRO (Generic Receive Offload) technology and can lead to memory corruption in kernel areas when processing UDP packets with zero-padding (empty payload). The problem affects only kernel 5.0, which […]
Hello everyone. Just over a year ago, I had to deal with a rather unpleasant situation involving suspicion of rabies infection. An article I read yesterday about vaccines for travelers reminded me of that case — particularly its lack of mention of rabies, even though it is a widely spread (especially in Russia, Asia, Africa, and America) and very insidious virus. The utility is built on the KPMcore library, which is also used by the universal installer Calamares, for example. What is noteworthy about this version? The program no longer requires root permissions to run; instead, it requests elevated permissions for specific operations through […]

Starting June 10, it will be prohibited to post add-ons in the directory that utilize code obfuscation methods, such as encoding code in Base64. At the same time, code minimization techniques (like shortening variable and function names, merging JavaScript files, and removing unnecessary […]
War is the way of deception. "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. Once, a friend called me asking for help to win a contest. She was struggling for first place in a beauty contest but was having no luck. Her competitor always ended up ahead. The contest rules were such that you had to upload your photo to the group's album and ask friends to comment on this photo in […]
