On December 30, Tesla will begin deliveries of Chinese Model 3 electric vehicles.

Tesla will begin delivering Model 3 vehicles off the assembly line at its Shanghai plant on Monday, a company spokesman told Reuters.

On December 30, Tesla will begin deliveries of Chinese Model 3 electric vehicles.

Construction of the American electric vehicle manufacturer's first plant outside the United States began in January, and production began there in October. The plant is expected to produce 250 vehicles per year after adding Model Y assembly initially.

A company representative added that the first 15 customers who will receive cars on December 30 will be Tesla employees.

The December 30 delivery start date means the plant will begin shipping vehicles to customers just 357 days after construction began, a new record for global automakers in China.
