An alternative, extended PuTTY build that supports file sessions.

An alternative build of the PuTTY 0.84 SSH client has been released, supplemented with some features ported from the KiTTY fork, which was discontinued three years ago. The porting of functionality from KiTTY to the current PuTTY codebase was accomplished almost entirely using ChatGPT/Codex. The changes affect only the interface and usability, without affecting the core logic of PuTTY.

Among the most notable changes:

  • Storing sessions and settings in separate files.
  • Separate launcher in the system tray.
  • Possibility to change font size using the combination "Ctrl+mouse wheel".
  • Automatically save window size and position.
  • Use the combination "Ctrl+Shift+left-click" to open a URL.
  • By default, the cursor is handled in "xterm-style bitmap" mode, which ensures that the cursor in Midnight Commander is displayed and functions correctly.
