The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it would ban airline passengers from taking certain Apple MacBook Pro laptop models on flights after the company recalled a number of devices due to the risk of battery fires.
βThe FAA is aware of a recall of batteries used in some Apple MacBook Pro laptops,β an agency spokesman said in an email to Reuters news agency on Monday, adding that the regulator had βalerted airlines about the recall.β
In June, Apple announced a recall of a limited number of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops due to their batteries being susceptible to overheating. We are talking about devices that were sold between September 2015 and February 2017.
